MODERN ROMANCE

The series Modern Romance is the product of a larger group of images collected over the space of four years. Photographs taken of a television monitor, movie trailers, and a computer screen, yielded thousands of images. The original intent of this study was to reveal to myself the messages we obtain from images encountered everywhere. The images collected fell into several distinct categories , the largest being romantic relationships. Most of these capture a moment between two people, with faces partially revealed. We are also participants in this as we view the couples and the space between them.
